Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Shyu Polanco.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, it’s been a super long but fun journey.
I moved here 10 years ago from Colombia to continue my studies in Medicine. While studying for the boards, I got really interested in all the Holistic and homeopathic medicine. It all started when I attended one class and 4 years later here I am, with a complete Master’s in Oriental Medicine.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, definitely not. I think because of my personality everything got harder for me. I like things to be perfect, so every time I had trouble with one subject I got really stressed and frustrated.
Little by little, I learned tips on how to just go with the flow and let things be the way they should be… let things flow their natural way!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jennifer Shyu OMD?
Oriental medicine is a topic that is growing worldwide. More and more people are looking for a non-invasive and natural way of healing.
Acupuncture, which is what I am most passionate about it treats all diseases. The best part of it, is that it focuses on the primary the cause of the problem, and not just treating a symptom.
90 % of my patients come to see me because of acute/chronic back pain, sleep disorders, stress, and anxiety. Most people know me because of the way I manage pain, non-invasive treatments, and with no need for medication.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Discipline and consistency are the keys. Don’t stop even if you feel or think you can’t make it! If you can dream it you can achieve it. Where there is a WILL there’s a WAY!
