Inspiring Conversations with Edina Szender of Wild Bohém

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edina Szender.

Hi Edina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I founded Wild Bohém in September 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. I always felt I was my best self-wearing flowy, bohemian clothes. As someone who loves wearing bohemian clothing, I have noticed here in the US we don’t have many brands compared to Australia and Europe where most bohemian brands are born, so I saw a market for it and went for it. I also realized plus size/curvy fashion is really behind and I wanted to make my online store as size inclusive as possible. I currently carry seven international brands, and this is just the beginning! When it comes to buying my values are for brands that need to be sustainable, ethical, fair trade, and also vegan (keep an eye out for cute vegan leather western boots for the fall).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting an online business in the middle of the pandemic, was definitely not an easy ride! At first, it was very challenging to rely on organic searches and to be found on social media. I am a firm believer in offering exceptional customer service and the news went viral from happy existing customers that then brought in new shoppers. My main focus at the beginning was to offer bohemian clothing. Now that we trying to break through bohemian fashion for curvy ladies as well, it definitely takes time.

We’ve been impressed with Wild Bohém, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wild Bohém is the first size inclusive bohemian online women’s boutique in the US that carries Australian boho brands.

Our boho lifestyle brand was founded on the premise that companies should empower women to make sustainable, ethical shopping decisions without breaking the bank or compromising on quality.

As we are an online store only, we do a lot of fun unboxing and try-ons on videos on social media, as well we offer personal styling via chat, email and Zoom. We want our customers to be completely happy so we offer free shipping and easy returns as well. In the fall, we are planning on doing a lot of pop-ups so follow us along on social media and let’s meet at one of our future events.

At Wild Bohém, we want to do our part to heal the environment. In addition to choosing brands with ethical and sustainability goals, we offer carbon neutral shipping. We use compostable shipping bags, recycled or reused boxes and inserts, and compostable, eco-friendly tissue paper. In addition, every time you order something from our site, we will plant one tree!

What are your plans for the future?
I would love to grow the business even bigger, participate at pop-up events country-wide, and bring in more international brands from overseas.
