Hidden Gems: Meet Samantha Jade Alech

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Jade Alech.

Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started working in the financial industry when I was 15 years old through an internship. I spent 12 years in that industry working with small businesses and I loved that I had the opportunity to learn from so many business owners and get a true understanding of what it was really like to own a business.

Marketing was always of interest to me as I grew up around it. My father owned a successful marketing firm and I was always involved in the work from a very young age… from putting together magazines, media kits, graphics, websites. Back then when magazines were a thing and the best websites were built through Dreamweaver and Flash. There was a turning point in my career where I felt I could no longer serve small businesses the way that my heart wanted to… the way that I KNEW would benefit them the most. I couldn’t serve them the way that I felt they needed with the platform that I had available to me working in the corporate world so I decided to venture off on my own.

Fast forward five years and we now are a full-service marketing firm with a team of 6 ladies serving small businesses in different stages of their lives. Our retainer services serve female professionals, primarily those in family law and financial services. We offer VIP strategy sessions for service providers needing to get “unstuck” with their marketing plan and wanting to get things done! I also teach for several non-profits and municipalities and will be launching an internal educational platform for micro-businesses very soon!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Just as with every business, there will always be challenges. When I first started, I did what most businesses do – I wanted to help everyone!

I ended up niching down to an industry that didn’t fit my team or me and it was causing stress for everyone. I quickly learned that I couldn’t help everyone and that if I continued with that mindset, I wouldn’t be able to help those that I COULD help. Once I was clear on that, the business grew very quickly. We went from a one-woman show to two to three in our first year. I learned very early on that our challenges are all learning experiences and they are only bad if we don’t utilize them as such… to improve ourselves and grow!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full-service marketing firm with a team of six ladies serving small businesses in different stages of their lives. We have a Business Strategist (me!), a Brand Strategist, OBM (Online Business Manager), Tech VA, Admin VA, and copywriter.

Our retainer services serve female professionals, primarily those in family law and financial services. We offer VIP strategy sessions for service providers needing to get “unstuck” with their marketing plan and wanting to get things done but don’t quite need a full retainer. I also teach for several non-profits and municipalities and will be launching an internal educational platform for micro-businesses very soon!

Our framework is built to support businesses at different stages and help them grow to a point where they CAN invest in a full-service retainer. We have female attorneys that just started their firms and other service providers just starting off that we support with small packages like Power Hour Sessions, VIP Session, or monthly strategy call packages. They are meant to give them the support they need at the beginning with a plan of action that they can implement on their own.

We have clients that only need a monthly strategy session with a few hours of support. And we have clients that have grown to the point of needing full-service support. Our offerings are built with two things in mind:

1. To help clients grow to the point where their growth can support the investment of the next package so they can do what they do best and focus on their “zone of genius.”

2. That marketing should not be a full-time job for the business owner. Our plans are built with consideration to the time they want to invest in marketing and what their goals are as individuals. As small business owners, we wear many hats and marketing shouldn’t become a burden, nor should it affect the work-life balance.

Our brand is built around our mission: that the quality of marketing that is accessible to a small business shouldn’t be determined by how deep their pockets are. I am a Latina, born and raised in South Florida to Cuban immigrants, and had to bootstrap my way through a lot in both life and business. There was so much value in those experiences because it made me realize that accessibility was and still is scarce to minorities and so many others in our communities.

Our goal for our clients and their marketing is to be relevant, authentic, impactful, and intentional. Our marketing plans and strategies are built around that. Small business owners don’t have to be someone they’re not to be successful with their marketing, nor do they have to be forced to do things they aren’t comfortable with. They have to stay true to themselves. We focus on strategies that are intentional and impactful because small business owners can sometimes face the challenge that there isn’t enough time in the day to do everything that is asked of them.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
My creative side extends far beyond what I do within the firm. At home, I love cooking, doing crafts with my son and my husband, Circuiting, organizing, refinishing furniture, discovering home/life hacks… anything and everything creative! I even used to be a belly dancer and completed training to become a belly dance instructor.

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, which lovingly refers to me as “Ladybug, the Control Freak.” 🥴 I love reading business books and the occasional romance novel.
