Hidden Gems: Meet Ilamise Leblanc of Ilamise Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilamise Leblanc.

Hi Ilamise, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up I’ve always loved makeup I used to play in my mom makeup’s especially her signature red lipstick. Makeup helps me in a lot of ways and as much as I love makeup I have a very sensitive skin so it was tough finding makeup that doesn’t have any chemicals I even remember a couple years ago I brought a purple lipstick from one of my local beauty supplies it burned my lips and that’s when I knew it was time for me to come up with something different because I couldn’t be the only one with sensitive skin and having hard time finding natural makeup that goes well with me, So after doing so many researches in 2019 I launched a few lipsticks just to test and see how the world will react to it and I was amazed of how fast they sold out they loved them so much they started asking for more, Last year during the pandemic I decided to turn the few lipsticks into a full makeup brand and here we are now this is Ilamise Cosmetics. We have eyeshadow, face powder, Matte lipstick and not to forget our Fruits lip gloss collection made of real fruits flavors and 100% plant-based.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth? No , I have my good days and I also have my bad days but I still wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world because I’ve come to conclusion that business is something that you need to be willing to make sacrifice specially being in the kind industry that I am. The beauty industry not only oversaturated but it also 10 times harder as a small business with no experiences and no team just a 24 years old young women with a vision and dedication.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ilamise Cosmetics is Black-owned makeup brand launched in 2019 created by a 24 years old young Haitian-American woman born and raised in Haiti that moved to the state 10 years ago.

All of our products are 100% vegan and skin sensitive friendly. Our business based in the heart of fort Lauderdale although we don’t have physical location yet but that still doesn’t stop us from offering local pick up an deliveries on our online shop.
