Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree’ Stapleton.
Hi Desiree’, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a Certified Master Life Coach, contributor for Entrepreneur.com, Author, and CEO that specializes in resilience training and goal fulfillment strategy. I have been featured in numerous publications such as Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, NBC, FOX & CBS News, and am the owner of a consulting firm that provides every-day people with actionable steps to help them achieve their goals and enhance their personal growth and development.
I started drafting up the concepts of my businesses during the onset of COVID-19 in the summer of 2020 because there were a number of events that occurred, rather close to each other, that resulted in me feeling “You deserve better.” I felt so much dissonance between who I was and who I wanted to be, and what I wanted to see in my life versus what I actually was seeing. So, I took the necessary steps to start making decisions that were more in alignment with the vision that I had for my life. Now, I am an author, CEO, and consultant that helps individuals set themselves up for success by helping them make decisions that are more in alignment with their desired outcome, addressing the mindset issues they face that serve as barriers to their success, and providing them with tools, resources, and strategies to achieve goal fulfillment.
Since launching my first company in November of 2020, I’ve been featured in multiple publications, podcasts, FOX, CBS & NBC News for the resources I provide in my “How To” academy, as well as an article featured in FOX News as #15 on the list of 21 Entrepreneurs You Need to Know About in 2021!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Far from it. Business-wise, I think every entrepreneur that is passionate about their work wonders if they are doing enough. What I have learned though, is that we are not permitted to see every garden that grows from every seed that we have sown. Our job is solely to plant seeds; I think we mess up by gauging our success on how many harvests we’ve witnessed, rather than gauging it by how many seeds we’ve sown. We can’t control the results; we can only control our sowing.
But if we are talking personal struggles- I have faced a number of traumatic experiences, in what seems like a short period of time. There was so much deliverance in knowing: that not only was I not alone, but that there was life on the other side that looked nothing like what I was currently experiencing. For some people, seeing that can literally save their life.
Couple the experience of seeing someone that has overcome what you are still struggling with, with also knowing that that person has the capacity to personally help you: it’s magic.
And that is especially relevant to me now because I am in the middle of fighting for myself and other women like me that have experienced some kind of sexual battery or assault. I am doing the hard thing, speaking up, and handling things in court. This is how people that have been dis-empowered in this way can stand up for themselves. This is how they can say “NO, what you did is not okay. And we are going to take this as far as a court will take it so that I can sleep at night knowing that I fought for myself and others like me”.
It’s not easy fighting something like this while also running two companies and trying to show up as your best-self for those that love you, but what has to be done- will be done.
I am INCREDIBLY grateful for it all, though. All of the trials and tribulations, the struggles, the fear, the trauma- they’re all experiences that built me. They are the things that strengthened me and not only tested my character but grew it. Those are the things that give me my sense of empathy and grace. I fought many mental battles to get to the place where I can help pull other people out of their own abyss. Life gets tough sometimes, and when it does, you don’t have too many choices.
So, I am grateful for my mini tragedies. They made me that much more human. That much more beautiful. That much stronger. That much more powerful. And that much more filled with wisdom. I actually have a wall full of people I intend to meet and goals I intend to accomplish. People like Oprah, Ellen, Sarah Jakes Roberts, Gary Vee, Michelle Obama, Taraji Henson, Beyoncé, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Tiffany Haddish. And I have goals like qualifying to join The Giving Pledge.
Had I not had faced those challenges that were meant to strengthen and prepare me for my purpose, I don’t think that I would have the faith and determination to go after those goals that I do. My resilience, grit, determination, and continual evolution are what made me decide to build companies that can help others build those things as well.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
