CARINA means cute/pretty in Italian, and their clutches are just that!
CARINA was founded in 2020 as a passion project during the COVID-19 pandemic and has grown into a successful e-commerce and retail business.
A first-generation mother + daughter duo whose roots trace back to Liguria, Italy wanted to create luxe quality yet affordable gifts to send to friends and family while distance kept them apart.
Inspired by the colors of the Italian coast while they daydreamed of the Riviera, CARINA was created—a line of vegan leather clutches with trendy Italian sayings.
In an effort to minimize fashion waste, each collection is limited.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Starting a new business always comes with its challenges, especially during a global pandemic, but we’re lucky that we get to work together as a mother/daughter and best friends.
We’ve been blown away by the demand and never imagined selling hundreds of clutches during our first year in business. Our biggest challenge has been keeping popular styles in stock!

We’re a mother/daughter brand that was founded in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. Inspired by the colors of the Italian coast, CARINA is a line of colorful vegan leather clutches with trendy Italian sayings.
The concept of CARINA was always something that we dreamed of — it started as a passion project during the pandemic and rapidly grew into a successful e-commerce and retail business. We identified a white space in the market for luxe quality accessories with trendy Italian sayings such as “SPRITZ SZN” and “TAKE ME TO AMALFI”. They’re loved by all – whether you’re Italian or just love or dream of Italy and “La Dolce Vita.”
