Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatrice Cazeau.
Hi Beatrice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my legal career as a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
I then went into private practice with a partner in 2002. That practice was dissolved in 2018, and I have been operating The Law Offices of Cazeau & Associates, PLLC since then.
Our firm handles cases in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. We represent clients in family law (including divorce, child support, and domestic violence) and personal injury cases.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The legal profession is quite competitive and it’s still a male-dominated profession, so the challenge is having to prove yourself every day just because you are female which sometimes means you have to work twice as hard.
I accept the challenge. I work hard and my team and I get great results for our clients. I have been at this for nearly 23 years and our clients come to us from referrals from former clients, friends, family, colleagues, and just word of mouth.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about the Law Offices of Cazeau & Associates, PLLC?
The Law Offices of Cazeau & Associates, PLLC is a black and female-owned law firm representing clients in South Florida in the areas of family and personal injury law.
Additionally, Attorney Cazeau serves as a Special Magistrate for the City of North Miami and presides over code enforcement hearings. She is also legal counsel for the Nuisance Abatement Board and the Unsafe Structures Board for the City of Miami Gardens.
Ms. Cazeau enjoys giving back to the community which has supported her for over 20 years. She continues to offer pro bono services to those who cannot afford them and for many years, Attorney Cazeau was a familiar face on Island TV as the host of “info Legal” a weekly segment designed to educate the Haitian-American community on the law.
Currently, she hosts “Koze Legal Avek Maitre Beatrice Cazeau” which is a weekly talk show, broadcasted on social media (Facebook Live), that seeks to enlighten, empower and educate the Haitian-American community on pertinent legal topics and current events.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my reputation in this profession and my ability to continue to give our clients the best legal representation possible.
