Conversations with Amanda Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Rodriguez.

Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a local yoga teacher and founder of conscious brand, Join The Wavement. Yoga found me in 2011 at the age of 17, bringing healing and comfort into my life after facing many adversities and traumatic experiences. After experiencing all the amazingness it brought to my life, I felt the urge to share this with others. In 2019, I finally became a certified yoga teacher. My true passion lies in witnessing and being a part of people healing through physical movement and mental stillness; in better words, watching them live a more conscious life.

Wanting to expand more on living a conscious life, I created Join The Wavement. This eco-conscious brand sells reusable cotton tote bags with conscious messages on them. Our goal: inspire you to live a more conscious life. By wearing these bags, you’ll inspire those around you to do the same with the positive messages printed on them because we believe the change we want to see starts within YOU. And of course, we are encouraging you to use less plastic bags by taking your reusable totes everywhere you go! With every bag purchased, we donate 5% to Blue Missions. It’s a win win for you, the Earth, and humanity!

#JoinTheWavement to living a conscious life

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Anything that is worthwhile does not come with ease. You must work work work for what you want. We also experienced a pandemic in our lifetime, which put a pause to many businesses, so that itself was a challenge! I also had a baby mid pandemic so life itself forced me to be home more than intended. Anyone with children knows that being home with a toddler, you barely have time for anything! I’ve had many late nights and 4am mornings to work on my business. Slowly, we are getting back into the groove of it all!

What matters most to you? Why?
Doing things with a purpose matters most to me. When you shop local, you support a small business owner, when you go green, you’re contributing to the sustainability of our planet, when you support charities or shop with a purpose you help humanity when you prioritize wellness and mindfulness, you become a more conscious human leading to better actions and inner peace. When you do good you feel good!
