Hi Natalia, it’s honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had love for photography. I got my first camera when I was about 12, from my dad as a Christmas gift. I would take pictures of everything and everyone. Then a couple of years ago, I received my first professional camera from my boyfriend. I took it with me everywhere, on trips, family outings, to the park. Anywhere I thought there would be something exciting to capture! Eventually, I started posting my work online and got great feedback so I decided to turn my hobby into a career. Little by little I started building a good client list. Now, I love what I do and where I’ve gotten!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. Like any small business, it’s tough getting clients. I’ve gotten lucky because a lot of my clients refer me and I’ve my clients that way. Another thing I struggled with at the beginning was my price list. I was new to it all and really didn’t know what to charge. As my portfolio grew and I kept getting more work, I started to establish a better price list.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a lifestyle, portrait and wedding photographer. I specialize mostly in families and kids. People would think photographing kids would be hard considering the move around a lot and won’t stay still. But for me, I enjoy it more. Capturing them in their real moments, laughing and running. I believe what sets me apart from a lot of photographers is that I like to capture real and raw moments as opposed to posed. I want to get the real love connections without having to tell my clients what to do.
What matters most to you?
It’s important to me that my clients not only love their photos, but will be able to look back years later and still feel what they felt in that moment. Whether it’s a wedding, a maternity shoot or just a simple family photoshoot. I want them to remember that day as a happy time with their loved ones!
