Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynette Stubbs.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Baking and decorating were never a part of my plan. About 15 years ago, I became a cheesecake fanatic. I loved it so much, that I decided to learn how to make it.
I then began to bake cheesecakes and sell them during the holidays. This progressed to year-round sales. I eased into baking cakes and cake decorating about 4 years ago and I’ve grown to love it. I wish I would’ve started sooner.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road; in fact, I’m still learning. Besides learning the tricks and processes of baking and decorating, I’ve also had to learn the business side of things as far as what to charge to see a profit.
Networking and marketing have been the absolute hardest, but I’m backed by a few close family and friends that have been helping me through that.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I strive to give great customer service and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
My customers are always referred to me by other satisfied customers and I’m really proud of that. Product-wise, I’m known for being able to infuse liquor into any of my homemade treats.
What matters most to you?
At this moment, it’s very important that I continue to progress. It’s been hard getting to where I am in my business, but it has been onward and steady.
I do not want to move backward or stay stagnant, I always want to continue to move forward. I want to continue to give a product that I’m proud of and my customers love.
