Community Highlights: Meet Loreana von Plocki of InnoBoutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Loreana von Plocki.

Hi Loreana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had the soul of a creative. Confused as of how to put my creativeness to use and being too young to figure it out, I decided to study communications and found my passion for photography when I was about to graduate college. Thus, I only minored in photography.

As a 2009 college graduate, I encountered myself looking for a job in what was then the worst economic recession of our time, leaving me even more lost as to where to look or what area I will be working in. At that point, I had to take whatever was available. With this, I landed a job at law firm as a filing clerk. I worked my way and became manager and was there for about 11 years.

Complacent and living paycheck to paycheck, deep inside, I knew my future didn’t lie there. I knew I had more to offer than I was giving. At the end of the day, a law firm was never what I had dreamed of in terms of my career goals. Nonetheless, I am forever thankful for the friends I made there and the unforgettable experiences.

In 2016, I decided to start my “blog” The Daily Bella. I started sharing about fashion, motherhood, fitness and lifestyle and started seeing people were liking what I was sharing. Social media became my creative outlet and I started to realize my true passion didn’t lie in a 9 to 5.

In 2017, I quit my full-time corporate job to pursue my dreams. I knew this wasn’t the legacy I wanted to leave my kids. I knew I had to chase those dreams. I met my now-husband, then-boyfriend, at the law firm and we actually made the decision to quit together! He, as an artist himself, knew that his future wasn’t there either.

Now all that is history, we literally hustled our way out and worked multiple jobs to feed our daughters, including cleaning homes/windows, retail and playing different restaurant gigs. All while we created our own photography business, I established myself and as an influencer and we started building our successful e-commerce business. We are leaving a legacy to our daughters like no other, we are teaching them that nothing is impossible. You just have to want it hard enough!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing about any successful journey is easy. There are MANY bumps on the road. And when I tell you many, you have NO idea. There have been so many times we’ve wanted to quit but we continued. Our daughters are definitely our biggest drive and inspiration. Everything we do, we do it for them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are an e-commerce business that focuses on home decor. During the beginning of the pandemic and those months of lockdown, we realized the importance of being home and making your home a happy, beautiful place. We started seeing how people wanted to make their space nicer since everyone was spending more time at home than ever before. With this, the idea of InnoBoutique was born and our body vases came to life!

I must admit the creative part of developing a product was my favorite part. It’s such an incredible process. We now sell our products on our website, Amazon, Etsy, and have participated in many successful pop-ups. Our products are also currently in seven different retail stores in the U.S., including our latest client, a beautiful boutique in Puerto Rico. We are so incredibly happy to see our brand grow but mostly to see how our customers have made our products part of their homes. There’s no better feeling!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
We have taken many risks as business owners. Starting from the moment, we quit our “secure” corporate jobs. I think this was the step that made me become fearless. I knew that after overcoming this big obstacle and coming out triumphant, there was little to fear.

When we decided to start InnoBoutique, we knew we had to invest money and time. There was a risk but we knew if we worked hard enough, we would be successful. Risk is a HUGE playing piece when starting a business. It’s scary but you’ll never find out if you will succeed unless you take it.
