Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronika Radkevich.
Veronika, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’m a traveling and fashion photographer who currently resides in Miami. I grew up in Belarus, Minsk where I discovered my interest in photography at an early age. Later moved to Paris to pursue fashion photography full-time before making Miami my home in 2017. I have won a boatload of awards for my work, and I’m grateful for every single one of them, but I’ve always been unsure of whether I earned them or whether the jury was rigged. Let’s be friends. Better yet, let’s swim the English Channel.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is my personal life exp thru ages of traveling. My art is my life in diff countries. Every year or 2 I pick up a country to move and try to explore culture, taste food and understand people mentality.
Thru my lens, I want to share this experience with others, not like any other photo documentalist or a tourist visiting a country for a short period.
I do capture the moment which I live in with person neither is my friend or stranger. Egypt or Turkey, Bali or Paris no matter where i share the moment with people i been together for a period of time month or , year or 5 its a different taste and feelings share the food every day with person you may never see again in a future and they would love you as a part of your family no matter where you been in the past and where you will be in the future.
The stereotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
I divide mine always for 2 parts
One part is commercial
I do weddings, e-commerce fashion shoots
And I do travel and art for myself showing the world of beauty thru my lens
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I’m getting ready to publish my book soon. At the moment I share my life journey in Instagram @veronika.radkevich and my website fashion4artphoto.com
But soon I will have more publications more specific on art.
