Check out Laelanie Larach’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laelanie Larach.

Laelanie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born in Honduras, a beautiful country in Central America with coasts on the Caribbean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The country has three major and dramatic large regions. To the east are the tropical Caribbean lands with jungles, lagoons, mountains, sandy beaches and islands of the Mosquito Coast. Also in the center of the country is a large interior hill the Sierra Madre Mountains, crossed by a number of rivers, each with its own beauty and character.

It was this beautiful combination of mountains, tropical forests, and sandy beaches that inspired me at a young age to begin experimenting with my artistic expression. In my earliest work I used pastels, watercolors, and charcoal after winning some small art contests in school, I was inspired to expand my work into the medium of oil on canvas.

Each one of my paintings is unique with a signature of vibrant colors and concepts. Throughout my body of work you will see themes drawn from my early experiences in Honduras, including aspects of my inner thoughts and emotions.

I feel alive when I’m using radiant colors in my abstract oil paintings. Each original painting represents the love for Latin culture using tropical concepts, sunsets and vibrant colors in the paintings. My other source of inspiration is from Miami, the beautiful beaches and the windy sounds hitting the waves inspires me to create nautical paintings with colorful sailboats and sunsets. Also I love to paint butterflies it brings me peace and joy when I’m painting them.

“Rebel Butterfly” is one of my recent pieces for the Butterfly Collection, that consist of a small series of paintings using an abstract style inspired by huge colorful butterflies. Another collection I’m working is title “Oceanica” consist of nautical paintings with huge ocean waves and sailboats that represents the love I have for the ocean and keeps me relax when I’m painting ocean waves.

I recently open an art gallery located at 10530 nw 26th St, Ste F104 Miami, FL 33172 “Laelanie Art Gallery” the art gallery has all my artwork and collections. Each painting is unique and original with their own concept and a mystery behind each piece.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I love to create unique oil paintings with bold fierce colors that evokes a positive energy and represents the love I have for the Latin culture. My inspiration comes from different sources, it can be the ocean, blue sky, past memories also my natural surroundings is a big source of inspiration in my artwork. In the paintings you will notice spheres in different colors that represents the sun and our universe, is my signature style on each painting and a reminder that we always have to spread a positive energy in your surroundings, let your soul shine with bright bold colors like a rainbow in the blue sky.

The medium used in my paintings are only oils, I love the feeling and also the smell of oils when I’m painting. I been using oils at a young age around 14 years old. Is the only medium I feel comfortable when I use it in my artwork.

Another of my lately inspirations are the flowers and butterflies, the beauty of a rose or the soft petals of other flowers makes my imagination go wild! “Flower in the Universe” was one of my recent piece it shows a curvy flower with wild petals floating in the universe that surrounds us in our inner thoughts. Art will always be my passion and I want my artwork to be recognize by many people around the world, I want to bring joy with my colorful paintings and be able to share my experience with other artists.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
As an artist you need to believe in yourself and in your work! Always be perseverant and be unique in your work. You must be passionate in your vision and never give up on your dreams. My dream was always to have an art gallery and finally I open my own art gallery alone, I had a vision and that kept my dream and faith alive.
