Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivis Azzeitun.
Ivis, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born in TGU, Honduras with strong desires in the abstract artistic world, using acrylic paint and all types of canvas. Although I obtained a degree in Business Administration, instead I found myself in exploring the expressionism, figurative and beautiful feminine form with its transcendent fusion abstract fantasies, demonstrating the daily expressionism with real messages lived day by day. Art is creative for the sake of realization, not for amusement: for transfiguration, not for the sake of play. It is the quest of our self that drives us along the eternal and never-ending journey we must all make. Art is not so much to express oneself but to discover oneself. There is something of the essence of creative expression that informs and transcends all its manifestations – and when you touch it – magic! Wow, art is love! Considering that the art I do is passion, sounding, creating, and turning colors into an expression of feelings. Carrying and wanting to tell the world what it represents and what I feel when I work on it, not thinking only of me. I am also thinking about others. So that other people can identify with expressive art and have an idea of what my art represents in everyday life.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As I told you in my presentation. At the moment of creating and placing colors, it is always thinking about a specific situation or moment, such as sadness, happiness, love, pain, any kind of feelings.
My inspiration to create is to make people see that there is nothing more beautiful than living and experiencing any type of situation, that makes us human makes us feel and move forward. No matter what adverse situation we may have along the way. In the end, everything happens. And we are the ones responsible for taking us to the success or failure of life.
My work is full of flavor and color. Everything that is there represents unique moments; each of my works has a sensitive meaning about each situation lived.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
The world has had problems since always since many years ago. The world has been at war; we have had countries with corrupt governments. Drought and famine has existed and continues to exist. Many new diseases have appeared, global warming is an imminent fact. But today, artists are also fighting for the welfare of the world. The world can see art in protest against weather damage, corrupt governments, etc. Now organizations make campaigns to fight cancer, and artists are included. The world is changing artists too.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
