We had the honor of connecting with some of the city’s brightest female leaders and role models and we asked them our question of the month: What is the best advice you have for someone who feels like they are facing insurmountable odds.

Below, you’ll find their advice and links and other info so you can learn more about them, their work and how to connect with them. We’ll be interviewing many of these amazing women in the coming weeks, stay tuned.

Take this opportunity to grow. Every challenge that I ever faced led to new opportunities and helped me become who I am today. Before I was timid, never left my comfort zone and i was insecure. Today I am brave, ready to embrace change and confident in everything I put out into the world.

Someone who feels insurmountable, i would tell them they can get through anything if they put there mind to it. Yes at times it feels like the world is going to crumble at your feet, but with love and faith it so possible to get through it. Turn to family, loved ones, and speak to the universe because we are not alone ever! I believe in the process, so whatever storm you feel like you may be in there will always be light at the end!

We all feel insurmountable sometimes. Do you remember your first homework task, or your first time when you drove a car? It seemed that it’s impossible, that you won’t make it. In your brain you were like “Just let it go, you don’t need it.” But look where you are right now. You have been driven the car for almost 10 years and graduated from university. It’s not because it was easy, it because you believed in yourself. So why don’t you right now? You are still the same incredible person like you used to be 10, 20, 30 years ago!

I believe that there is no challenge that really is insurmountable. People nowadays just forgot to believe in themselves. If you really want something so bad, that you would do anything to archive it, you can do it! Even tho it may seem unreachable, when you start to believe in yourself, then there is absolutely a way to get to that goal or out of a tricky situation. Another think you should always bare in mind is to talk about it, the more you talk about the challenges you may be facing the less insurmountable they seem. I know that is a lot to ask from a person to talk about their challenges but believe me, the feedback you get from other people is mostly positive.

That challenge may seem insurmountable when you’re in front of it, but once you do surmount it you’ll laugh about it. So remember that for every challenge you face: you will get over it.

My best advice for someone going through a seemingly insurmountable challenge is to stay in the present moment. Break down whatever it is you are dealing with into smaller, more manageable chunks. Try to get done one or two small chunks a day. Every little bit counts, and it will make you feel better to work on it.

When faced with a challenge I believe it is crucial to have a strong plan, confidence, and most importantly faith. I know it’s said life doesn’t always go according to plan, but that shouldn’t deter you from creating one. Relieve your mind of all doubt and believe in yourself, as you are your harshest critic. Push aside fear and worry, as strength is best found when dependent on faith.

The first thing I would tell them is, you are not alone. Challenges are part of our life and they are better seen as opportunities to grow and change something that is not working for us right now. Everything in this life is temporary so although sometimes things seem unbearable, try to just breathe, focus on finding one good thing and keep putting your energy into that one good thing.

Create time to slow down and get quiet. I think it’s hard to face a challenge when we’re feeling caught under the wave of it or holding onto a lot of resistance. Stepping away from the question for a while and taking small actions that make us feel good help to clear the mind and get us out of the loop we’re caught in. We can allow the answer to come to us from a softer place. My go-to feel good things are- going for a long walk, doing a slow yoga practice at home to good music, listening to an audiobook while cooking, or cuddling with my boyfriend and pets.

When you’re facing a challenge you need first to believe in yourself!. tell yourself that you can! And create the reality that you already succeeded. Then feel it! Second important  advice is that You should always ignore the background noise of all the people who are telling you that you can’t achieve your goals. Think that you can and you will!

I don’t think any task is unattainable. I think that yes, we all feel that sometimes we can’t get through something or that we can’t reach a goal we made for ourselves when things get difficult.  However, that’s just in our heads. So my advice is, change your mindset to a more positive one, surround ourself with the RIGHT people, and keep working for what you want. It’s all about your perspective and your drive.Everything will fall into place with time.

My best advice to someone who is facing a challenge that they feel is insurmountable is to push through. The worse thing to do in those situations is give up. You ARE enough. You are good enough, strong enough, smart enough, and capable enough to overcome any obstacle you set your mind to. Everyone faces these challenges, but the way you handle them will ultimately be the deciding factor. “It ain’t about how hard you can hit. The best advice I would give is to set small goals to reach your overall goal and surpass the challenge. Challenges are only considered challenges because it takes you out of your comfort zone which in the end makes you better and allows you to conquer things you didn’t even know were possible. I always try to not look at the big picture because sometimes that is overwhelming and can sound inconceivable. It’s always better to take small steps and before you know it, you have achieved the impossible!

My biggest piece of advice for someone who is facing a challenge that they feel is insurmountable would be to just take take each day one day at a time and work really hard. The best advice I would give is to take a moment to think about the issue, grieve, and then get yourself back up to find a solution to this issue or completely let go of it and look for the next best solution. We choose what we give our energy to and what we deem as worthy fighting for. Issues will come and go, big and small. So why not fight the battle for what’s worth fighting for?
